On October 30, 2012, the 8th Yangtze River Delta Shipbuilding Industry Development Forum was held in Yangzhou. This forum is hosted by the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai Shipbuilding Engineering Societies, organized by the Jiangsu Shipbuilding Engineering Society, and co organized by the Jiangsu Defense Science and Technology Industry Office, Jiangsu Ship Inspection Bureau, Yangzhou Defense Science and Technology Industry Office, and Jiangsu University of Science and Technology Shipbuilding Industry Comprehensive Research Institute. More than 100 experts and scholars from research institutes and the shipbuilding industry in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu attended the meeting.
This forum is a high-level academic exchange event, where leaders from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, the competent departments of the shipbuilding industry in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, experts from relevant research institutions, and entrepreneurs in the field of shipbuilding design and manufacturing gather together to discuss the development plan of the shipbuilding industry.
The meeting was chaired by Fang Jianhua, Director of the Provincial Maritime Safety Administration, Secretary of the Jiangsu Shipbuilding Engineering Society, and Wang Jianhua, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, respectively, for the first and second halves. Firstly, led by the organizer, Tong Xiaotian, Chairman of Jiangsu Society of Shipbuilding Engineering, Zhou Zhenbai, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Society of Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering, and Chen Darcy, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Society of Shipbuilding Engineering, delivered speeches respectively, expressing sincere gratitude and warm welcome to the leaders and representatives attending this forum.
The first characteristic of this forum is its high level. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, led by Director Shu Min and Deputy Director Qin Yan of Jiangsu Provincial Commission of Economy and Information Technology, delivered important speeches at the meeting. Vice Director Mei Zhengrong of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transport also delivered a written speech. The speeches of the leaders provided a comprehensive analysis of the current situation and problems in the development of the shipbuilding industry from the perspective of the government. Especially in response to the severe situation faced by the shipbuilding industry, they put forward ideas for crisis response and breakthrough development, which has important guiding significance for the next step of shipbuilding industry development. The attendees, especially representatives from the shipbuilding industry, had a clear understanding of the current domestic and international shipbuilding situation. Understanding the policy measures that the country will adopt to promote independent innovation, stimulate domestic demand, and provide financial support, further clarifies the government's relevant support policies and management requirements for the shipbuilding industry.
Secondly, the conference report and speeches are rich in content. Five expert representatives delivered keynote speeches and keynote speeches at the meeting. From the domestic and international shipbuilding situation to the development direction of the shipbuilding industry, to specific green shipbuilding technologies, everything is available. Professor Bao Zhangjing, a specially invited expert from the China Shipbuilding Industry Economic Research Center, delivered a keynote speech titled "Development Situation of Shipbuilding Industry - Challenges and Opportunities" at the conference. Professor Bao used a large amount of accurate data to analyze the current development situation of the global economy and shipping market, as well as the shipbuilding and marine engineering market, and predicted future development trends. And put forward their own thoughts and suggestions on the development of the shipbuilding industry in Jiangsu Province. Professor Bao's report provided detailed data and thorough analysis, which impressed and inspired the attending delegates.
Chairman Tong Xiaotian of Jiangsu Shipbuilding Society delivered a keynote speech on "Crisis and Development Trends in the Shipbuilding Industry" at the meeting. The report, based on its observations and experiences during inspections of several shipbuilding enterprises in Jiangsu, proposes ideas for the shipbuilding industry to solve difficulties and respond to crises from the perspective of enterprises. An insightful analysis of the current risks in the shipbuilding industry was conducted, and four highly operational response strategies were proposed; It is enlightening for the attending representatives.
For example, Mr. Xie Ziming from the National Laboratory of Digital Shipbuilding proposed in his paper that we should implement the requirements of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 17th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to "promote the deep integration of informatization and industrialization", seize the opportunity to comprehensively improve the level of informatization in the research and development, design, manufacturing, service, and management of the shipbuilding industry, enhance digital shipbuilding capabilities, promote the construction of modern shipbuilding models and shipbuilding information integration systems for enterprises, take lean and precision as the core, curb and eliminate ineffective logistics, and achieve on-time production and rhythm production as the starting point, thereby effectively improving production efficiency and gradually approaching the world's advanced level of shipbuilding production efficiency; Let China's shipbuilding industry demonstrate its capabilities in the third industrial revolution. Experts from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai also gave speeches at the meeting. We exchanged professional content on the development of the yacht industry and green shipbuilding.
The third is that the submitted paper is highly academic and targeted. This forum has received extensive response and active support from experts and scholars in the shipbuilding industry in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. Everyone closely follows the theme of "integration and coordination, breakthrough development, and overcoming difficulties together", actively submits articles with a wide range of topics, strong academic rigor, and high quality. A total of 40 papers with approximately 390000 words have been published, including 10 on shipbuilding situation analysis, 7 on green shipbuilding and ship energy-saving technology, 8 on shipbuilding enterprise management, 2 on digital shipbuilding technology, 11 on research and analysis of design and manufacturing technology for ships and marine equipment, and 2 on yacht development and legal interpretation. Has demonstrated a high academic level.
